Pampa Hi Zip Lth ESS

Long time Palladium wearer. Ordered the same size as my last pair, these are much shorter and narrower. Much too small for me, can't wear them, can't return them.

I was trying to replace my old leather palladium boots, but these seem just like leather sneakers. No tongue gusset, so the water and dirt will come in if you step in a puddle. Wish I could get my old leather Pampas cuffs, but all of the leather pampas are now fur-lined. Not the 3-season boots I need here.

I'm a big fan of Palladium, and have owned close to 20 pairs so far. I love their long history, comfort and durability.

This particular style fits a tad narrower than some of the others but it will stretch and conform to your foot the more you wear it. The leather upper is really supple, with a nice mat finish, it is more than water resistant if you wipe it with dubbin or mink oil once in a while. The zipper is a nice touch (part of the reason why I purchased this style) but not necessary once you get the knack. The sole is gummy and has lasted me way more than 500 Km on a similar pair. The heel lugs are hollow and will eventually wear through but the sole remains intact.

Every time I put these on and go for a walk I am happy -- the boots fit well, and making walking feel fun, powerful, energetic, alive. This is my third pair of Palladiums, although it's been years and years since my last purchase. This is because the only store that sold Palladiums in my town stopped selling them (the store went out of business during covid, too). So, I went on the website and found a pair that met my needs, and ordered a new pair a couple of weeks ago. When they arrived they fit perfectly, and there were no issues breaking them in.

It should be said that these are designed for fall and spring, not winter -- they're not insulated. It doesn't get too cold in the winter where I'm from, so they're perfect, but if you live in a colder climate you should probably consider something else for the winter.
